Mashed Potato Kraut Casserole

1 1/2 lbs.spuds(about 5)peeled cut in small chucks,6 cups shredded cabbage(1 head),4 oz.cream cheese softened,salt,1/2 cup gr.onions chopped,pepper,1 cup grated sharp cheese.Recipe
Oven 425*,greased 3 qrt.baking dish.Put spuds in pot,add salted water to cover,cook till soft.Meanwhile,put cabbage in pot of salted water,cook till tender.Drain and mash spuds,add cream cheese,salt,fold in onions and cabbage.Season with salt,pepper.Put in pan,top with cheese.Bake uncovered 30-50 mins.
