    1/2 cup butter flavor shortening,1 cup powdered sugar,1/2 teas.vanilla,1/4 teas.salt,2 Tbls.beaten egg,1/2 teas.baking soda,2 Tbls.buttermilk,1 1/2 cup flour(extra for rolling),1/8 teas.baking powder.

    In lrg.bowl cream short.,sugar,vanilla,salt.Add egg,beat till fluffy.Add baking soda,mix 20 seconds,add buttermilk,mix 30 sec.In another bowl,mix flour,baking pow.Pour dry ingred. into wet,mix.Roll dough out on floured surface 1/8 ",cut out.Put on ungreased sheet,bake 12-15 mins.
