Serves 8.
List of Ingredients
1/2 pound small elbow macaroni(about 2 cups),3 tablespoons Tillamook butter,3 tablespoons flour,1 tablespoon dry mustard powder,3 cups Tillamook milk,1/2 cup finely diced sweet white onion,1 bay leaf,1 teaspoon paprika,1 large egg,12 ounce Tillamook extra sharp cheese,grated(1 snack bar size),1 cup frozen peas,1 teaspoon accent,1 teaspoon salt,fresh black pepper to taste.
Topping;4 tablespoons Tillamook butter,1 cup pre-packaged seasoned bread crumbs.Recipe
Preheat oven to 350* F.
In large pot of boiling salted water,cook macaroni 8-9 minutes.While pasta is cooking,in a separate pot,melt butter.Whisk in flour and mustard and stir for about 5 minutes,making sure it's free of lumps.Stir in milk,onion,bay leaf,and paprika.Simmer for 10 minutes,and remove bay leaf.Temper in slightly beaten egg.Stir in 3/4 of the cheese.Season with salt,pepper,accent(msg).Fold in macaroni and peas.Pour into 2 quart greased casserole.Top with remaining cheese.
For topping;melt butter in a saute pan and toss with bread crumbs.Bake 25-30 minutes.Remove from oven and rest for 5 minutes before serving.
