Reuben Kay,an Omaha grocer was said to have invented this sandwich during a poker game in 1955.It was entered in a national sandwich contest in 1956 and won.
List of Ingredients
Cooked sliced corned beef brisket,swiss cheese slices,dark or light rye bread,drained sauerkraut,thousand island dressing,butter.Recipe
Assemble sandwich thus;Several layers of meat and a slice of cheese,approx.2-3Tbls.kraut.Spread dressing on other slice of bread,top sand.Brown sandwich in butter in skillet on each side.
