    Lemon Sauce

    Source of Recipe

    Submitted by Brandon Johnstun

    Recipe Introduction

This is a quick and easy sauce for meats, seafood, and vegetables. The lighter the meat, the thinner the sauce. You can substitute the juice and peel for any citrus fruit you like, or combination. You can also use pureed fruits, leaving out the salt.

    List of Ingredients

    Tools

    Sauce pan
    Mixing spoon
    Measuring cup
Measuring spoons, 1 Tsp, 1 Tbl
    Knife

    Ingredients

    1/2 C Sugar
    2 Tbl Corn starch
    Dash of salt
    1 C Cold water
    2 Tsp Lemon peel
    2 Tbl Lemon juice
    2 Tbl Butter

    Recipe

Serves: Small family dinner for chicken.
Time required: Prepare: 2 minutes Cook: 5 minutes
    Difficulty: Easy

    Directions

    1. Bring to a boil in pan sugar, corn starch, salt, and water.

    2. When the sauce thickens, take off the heat and add in lemon peel and juice, and butter. Mix till smooth.

    3. Cook this so the timing is the same as the meat you want to cover is done.

    4. This sauce will break and dilute if you reheat it too hot.

    Serve with

Baked, breaded, sauteed, stir fried, steamed, braised, bbq, grilled, and smoked chicken.

    Use any meats you like.

Every vegetable either steamed, deep fried, or breaded.

    Variations

*Use any combination of citrus fruits and peels.

*Use a fruit puree, while dropping the salt, and sweetening it up with some sugar.

*Make it a thick sauce for a bbq piece of chicken, and a very thin sauce for a light fish like halibut.
