    List of Ingredients

    Tools

    Clay pot
    Knife

    Ingredients

    2 large whole Garlic bulbs
    2 Tbs Olive oil

    Recipe

    Serves: As you need it
Time required: Prepare: 15 minutes Cook: 1 hour 15 minutes
    Oven temperature: 350 degrees
    Difficulty: Easy

    Directions

NOTE: You can also do this recipe in aluminum foil.

    1. Soak clay pot and its cover in water at least 15 minutes.

    2. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.

    3. Cut off about 1/2 inch from the top of bulbs and remove some of the outer papery covering.

    4. Brush entire bulb with oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. (NOTE: You really do not need to salt and pepper, but try it both ways.)

    5. Place bulbs cut side up in pot. Cover and place in cold oven. This is so you do not crack your pot. But if you turn on the oven when you cut the garlic, it will be alright.

    6. Turn on oven to 350°F and bake 1 hour.

    7. Brush bulbs with additional oil and bake another 15 minutes.

    8. To get it out. Grab the garlic and put it in the palm of your hand. Turn your hand over, and squish them out. Have the kids do it and tell them to squish the snot out of it, and see them laugh and want to do it every time.

    Serve with

    Any recipe that needs garlic.

Eat it as it is or add to a recipe like mashed potatoes, or in a pasta sauce of olive oil, parmesan, and fresh cut tomatoes.

    Variations

*Use a flavored oil you like, and add some dried herbs to lay over it.
