    "S" Cookies

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 cups of flour
    • 1 cup shortening
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 6 tsp. baking powder
    • 1/2 cup of milk
    • 1 tsp. vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Put together the milk and the baking powder. Do not stir.

    2. Separate the white from the eggs and beat the whites and the yolks in separate bowls.

    3. Using a mixer, on medium speed, mix together the flour, shortening, and sugar. Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture, blend together.

    4. Take the egg yolk and add the vanilla. Stir well. Add the yolks to the flour mixture. Take the whites of the egg and mix together with the flour mixture until well blended.

    5. Separate the dough by heaping tablespoonsful and shape into an "s".

    6. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 to 375 degree oven (depending on the oven) for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
