BLUEBERRY PANDOWDY

Filling:
2 c. fresh blueberries
1/3 c. sugar
juice of 1/2 lemon
Combine berries, juice and sugar in saucepan and cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour into well greased 9x9x2 baking pan.
Cake Batter:
½ cup butter or margarine
½ cup sugar
1 egg
1½ cups sifted all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup milk
Cream butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar. Stir in egg. Sift dry ingredients together, and add alternately with milk. Mix until smooth. Spread on berries. Bake in preheated 375° oven for about 20 minutes. Spoon out, hot or cold, and serve with cream, or hard sauce. Makes 6 servings.
