EGGNOG SNICKERDOODLES

2� cups all-purpose flour
� teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1� cups sugar
1 cup butter, softened
� teaspoon rum extract
� teaspoon brandy extract
2 eggs
1 teaspoon nutmeg
� cup colored (or plain) sugar
Recipe
Heat oven to 400� F.
In a larger mixer bowl, combine all cookie ingredients EXCEPT for the � cup colored sugar AND the nutmeg. Beat at a low speed, scraping the bowl often, until well mixed.
Combine the � cup colored sugar with the nutmeg and set aside.
Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of the dough into 1 inch balls, and roll in the sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned. Remove to racks to cool.
