BAKED SPAGHETTI

1 lb spaghetti, prepared to package directions
1 large green pepper, chopped
1-2 onions, chopped
3 tomatoes, chopped
1 clove garlic, pressed
2 teaspoons Italian spices (oregano, basil)
4 slices white bread
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
butter
salt & pepper to taste
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350°. Prepare spaghetti according to package directions, drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt about a Tablespoon of butter, and saute
the garlic. Add the peppers and onions and cook until they begin to get soft. Add the tomatoes and simmer for a couple of minutes. Stir in Italian spices. Remove from heat.
In a 9 x 13 greased casserole dish, put the drained spaghetti. Top with pepper, onion, tomato mixture. Top with shredded cheese.
Butter the bread on both sides. Cut into cubes. Sprinkle bread cubes over the top of the casserole.
Bake in 350° oven until bread becomes browned, and the cheese has melted. Serve with butter, salt and pepper.
