    2 teaspoons crushed fresh garlic
    1 pound 95% lean ground beef (or subtitute turkey sausage!**)
    1 large Spanish onion, chopped well
    2 medium carrots, peeled and grated
    2 stalks of celery WITH LEAVES, finely chopped
    1 (28 oz) can tomato puree
    1 (14½ oz) can tomatoes
    ¼ cup + 2 Tablespoons beef broth
    2½ teaspoons beef bouillon granules
    2 teaspoons dried oregano
    1 teaspoon brown sugar substitute
    ¼ teaspoon pepper
    ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

    Recipe



    Brown meat. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 25 minutes. Serve over pasta.

    ½ cup is about 63 calories, 7.2 g carbs and 1.3 g fat
