Quick and Easy Red Beans and Rice
This is my most favored Red Beans and Rice refipe. It is quick to prepare, easy and most of all delicious.
List of Ingredients
- Vegetable spray
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (15 oz) red beans, drained
- 1/2 to 1 lb fully cooked smoked sausage, slices 1/4" slices
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/4 tsp ground red pepper
- 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce
- 2 cups hot cooked rice
- More Hot Pepper Sauce
Instructions
- Coat Dutch oven with cooking spray.
- Over medium-hot heat, add onion, celery, ground pepper and garlic. Cook 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add beans (make sure they are drained), sausage slices and tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper and 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce. Reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
- Serve over rice.
