    Burnt Onion Gravy

    List of Ingredients




    1 tablespoon of safflower or olive oil
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 1/2 cups water
    2 teaspoons vegetable seasoning (like Spike)
    1/4 t Tarragon
    1/8 t Sage
    1/4 t Chervil
    Dash of nutmeg

    Recipe



    Heat oil in a large skillet. Add sliced onion and sauté over medium-high heat until onion begins to brown. Add water, vegetable seasoning, tarragon, sage, chervil and nutmeg. Bring to a boil and lower to medium-low heat. Cook until gravy is reduced to about 3/4 cup. Makes 3 to 4 servings.
