Autumn Acorn Squash
List of Ingredients
2 acorn squash, cut in half lengthwise and seeded
1 cup maple or pancake syrup
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or nutmeg
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place squash halves in a 9- by 13-inch baking dish, cut side up.
Recipe
In a medium bowl, combine maple syrup, butter, and cinnamon. Coat the cut half of the squash evenly with the syrup mixture, using all of the mixture. Bake for 1 hour, basting occasionally, or until squash is fork-tender and starts to brown around the edges.
NOTE: Be careful when you check the squash for doneness and remove it from the oven because the syrup is very hot and can burn you.
