    Apple Crisp

    Recipe Introduction

    Two cans of apple pie filling can be used in place of the Filling ingredients. But this tastes best with fresh apples.

    List of Ingredients

    Filling:
    4 cups sliced apples
    1/4 cup orange or apple juice
    1/4 cup sugar

    Topping:
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1 cup quick-cooking oats
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg (optional)
    dash salt
    1/2 cup butter


    Recipe

    Toss apples with juice and sugar. Place apples in buttered 9-inch round cake pan.

    Topping:
    Combine flour, oats, sugar, spices and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is lightly browned. Serve warm.

    Makes 6 servings.
