Pumpkin Pie Squares

Recipe Introduction
I've used this recipe for so long that I forget where I discovered it. I have changed the recipe over the years to suit our taste.
List of Ingredients
Base:
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
Filling:
2 cup canned pumpkin
2 eggs (3 if small)
1/2 tsp ginger
1 cup milk
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup white sugar
Topping:
1/2 cup quick oats
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)Recipe
Combine the 4 base ingredients. Press into ungreased 13x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. (Let baking dish cool before adding the pumpkin mixture.)
Combine the 7 filling ingredients in mixing bowl and beat well. Pour on top of the baked base/crust and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Combine the 4 topping ingredients and sprinkle over pumpkin filling. Return to oven and bake 20 minutes longer. Remove from oven and let cool. Cut into 2 inch squares.
