    Ambrosia

    Source of Recipe

    My Recipe

    List of Ingredients

    • 3 bananas
    • 3 red delicious apples (large ones)
    • 3 seedless oranges
    • 1 can sliced pineapple (no sugar added)
    • 1 can fruit cocktail (no sugar added)
    • 3/4 cup raisins
    • 1 cup frozen flaked coconut (fresh frozen no sugar if possible)
    • 1 cup splenda
    • 1 cup pecan pieces (or walnuts)
    • 3 red and 3 green cherries

    Instructions

    1. Get a festive fruit bowl large enough to hold all ingredients well.

    2. Peel and cut apples, oranges and bananas and layer each fruit in bowl.

    3. Layer all the fruit, raisins & nuts (except for the pineapple and cherries - save these to put on top)

    4. Continue to layer all the fruits, raisins and nuts and sprinkle with sugar (I use splenda) between each layer.

    5. When you inserted you last layer of fruit, nuts, raisins, pour the syrup of the pineapple over the fruit.

    6. Sprinkle the coconut all over the top of the Ambrosia then place the pineapple slices on top.

    7. In the holes in the pineapple, place the red and green cherries.

    8. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

    Final Comments

You can add more fruit if you like but the bananas will start to turn dark after a couple of days. It's best to cut up a small amount of fruit. If you want more, it's easy to make but it needs to set in the frig a while so the juices and splenda can mix well for a good taste.
