    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cup finely chopped almonds
    • 2 cup butter
    • 2 cup sugar
    • 2/3 cup brown sugar
    • 4 T. water
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips


    Instructions


    1. Sprinkle 1/2 of the almonds on a 11x 13 baking sheet.

    2. Melt butter in heavy kettle. Add sugar and water, bring to a boil stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.

    3. Continue cooking without stirring until candy thermometer reaches 300 or hard crack stage.

    4. Remove from heat, stir in soda. WORK FAST. Mixture will be foamy.

    5. Pour over almonds. Cool for 5 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over. When chips are melted, spread over mixture.

    6. Sprinkle with the rest of the almonds. Press lightly over chocolate and cool.

    7. Break into pieces.
