List of Ingredients
- 2 cup finely chopped almonds
- 2 cup butter
- 2 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 4 T. water
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Sprinkle 1/2 of the almonds on a 11x 13 baking sheet.
- Melt butter in heavy kettle. Add sugar and water, bring to a boil stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.
- Continue cooking without stirring until candy thermometer reaches 300 or hard crack stage.
- Remove from heat, stir in soda. WORK FAST. Mixture will be foamy.
- Pour over almonds. Cool for 5 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over. When chips are melted, spread over mixture.
- Sprinkle with the rest of the almonds. Press lightly over chocolate and cool.
- Break into pieces.
