    Recipe Introduction


    This is an industrial sized recipe. I usually make 1/4 for a regular batch. It can be made ahead and divided and frozen into 4 packets to be used at a later time.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 c (1lb) butter (real butter)
    • 2 c sugar
    • 2 c brown sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 2 t vanilla
    • 5 c oatmeal
    • 4 c flour
    • 1 t salt
    • 2 t baking powder
    • 2 t baking soda
    • 24 oz (2 large bags) choc. chips
    • 1 (8 oz) Hershey bar , chopped
    • 3 c chopped nuts


    Instructions


    1. Cream together the butter, sugar and brown sugar.
    2. Add the eggs and vanilla
    3. In a separate bowl add the oatmeal, flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda
    4. Mix all the ingredients together.
    5. Add the chips and nuts and stir by hand.
    6. Place golf ball sized cookies 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
    7. Flatten balls slightly before cooking for bigger, flatter cookies.
    8. Bake at 375 degrees for 6-10 minutes
    9. Makes 125 cookies.


    Final Comments


    I sometimes substitute a large bag of chunk chips for one of the regular ones. You could use lots of combos. I like a dark chocolate for the bar. I think more is better.
