Recipe Introduction
This is an industrial sized recipe. I usually make 1/4 for a regular batch. It can be made ahead and divided and frozen into 4 packets to be used at a later time.
List of Ingredients
- 2 c (1lb) butter (real butter)
- 2 c sugar
- 2 c brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 t vanilla
- 5 c oatmeal
- 4 c flour
- 1 t salt
- 2 t baking powder
- 2 t baking soda
- 24 oz (2 large bags) choc. chips
- 1 (8 oz) Hershey bar , chopped
- 3 c chopped nuts
Instructions
- Cream together the butter, sugar and brown sugar.
- Add the eggs and vanilla
- In a separate bowl add the oatmeal, flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda
- Mix all the ingredients together.
- Add the chips and nuts and stir by hand.
- Place golf ball sized cookies 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Flatten balls slightly before cooking for bigger, flatter cookies.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 6-10 minutes
- Makes 125 cookies.
Final Comments
I sometimes substitute a large bag of chunk chips for one of the regular ones. You could use lots of combos. I like a dark chocolate for the bar. I think more is better.
