Caramel Pecan Pie
List of Ingredients
- 1/2 pound caramels (about 30)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 cup pecan halves ( I use more)
- unbaked pie shell
Instructions
- Place caramels, water and margarine in a double boiler and heat, stirring until caramels are melted and sauce is smooth.
- Combine sugar, salt, vanilla and eggs in a seperate container. Mix thouroughly. Add pecans and caramel sauce; stir well.
- Pour into unbaked pie crust and bake in a 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and finish baking at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Final Comments
This is very goooood!!! I prefer it over regular pecan pie.
