    List of Ingredients


    • 1 to 1 1/2 loaves bread (I use 1 lb loaves and let dry out first)
    • 1 cup celery, diced (I omit)
    • 1 medium onion, diced (about 1 cup)
    • 1 1/2 tsp salt (I use about 1 tsp)
    • pepper
    • 1 stick oleo (I use butter)
    • 2 to 3 tsp sage (Penzy's Sage is best)
    • 3 to 4 cup broth
    • 1 can cream of chicken soup (I use cream of mushroom)
    • 1 can water (I use more broth)
    • 3 to 4 eggs (I use 2)


    Instructions


    1. Saute celery and onion in oleo until tender; add soup, water, broth and eggs (slightly beaten). Break bread into pieces; sprinkle with salt, pepper and sage. Add liquid mixture. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees or put in crock pot on high for 45 minutes or on low for 6 to 8 hours.
