    Caramel Frosting

    Source of Recipe

    Chris Cooper

    Recipe Introduction

The first recipe for caramel icing came out of an old family nutrition paper cookbook, like you would get from a government program or home ec or something like that. My mom used to make this when I was growing up, people love it! I just make a boxed chocolate cake mix and use the frosting!

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup butter or margerine
    1 cup brown sugar, packed
    1/4 cup milk
    2 cups powdered sugar
    1/2 tsp vanilla

    Recipe

Combine butter or margerine, br sugar and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils and sugar is dissolved. Cool slightly.
Beat powdered sugar into mixture until frosting reaches spreading consistancy. Add vanilla; mix well and put on cake!
