    Recipe Introduction


    This was a recipe I got from my grandmama. Serve with OLD FASHION TEACAKES when the preacher comes for a visit on a hot afternoon.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/4 c sugar
    • 1/2 c boiling water
    • 1 1/2 c freshly squeezed lemon juice
    • 4 1/2 c cold water


    Instructions


    1. Combine sugar and boiling water, stirring until sugar dissolves.
    2. Add lemon juice and cold water.
    3. Mix, chill, and serve over ice.
    4. Garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs, if desired.


    Final Comments


    Yield: 7 cups

    Note: Most southern homes have mint growing in their yards.
