SOUTHERN MINT JULIPS

Recipe Introduction
Delicious on a hot summer evening while entertaining on the "veranda" smelling the scents of jasmine and magnolia blossoms.
List of Ingredients
- Per julip cup:
- 2 jiggers of "good" bourbon
- 1t. confectioner's sugar, divided
- 6-8 sprigs of fresh mint
- water
- finely crushed ice
Instructions
- You must use a sterling silver julip cup.
- Place 3-4 sprigs of mint,1/2 t. of the confectioner's sugar, and just enough water to disslove the sugar.
- Crush the paste into the mint leaves.
- Fill julip cup half full of crushed ice. Add remaining mint leaves, confectioner's sugar, and more ice to just about fill julip cup.
- Pour bourbon over all until cup is full. Top with a final mint leaf.
- Place julips in the freezer on a "sterling silver"(very important) tray for about a hour or until heavy frost forms on the goblet.
- Serve with short straws on the silver tray.
