    Easy Chocolate Chewies

    1 pkg (18-1/4 oz) Devil's Food cake mix
    1/2 cup vegetable shortening
    2 large eggs, lightly beaten
    1 tbs water
    1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar

    Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring until smooth. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in powdered sugar. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 10 minutes. Cool 10 minutes on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Yield: about 4 dozen.
