Salad:
6 medium potatoes
1 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
1 onion, chopped
Dressing:
6 slices bacon
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
Recipe
Scrub potatoes and cook in boiling water, with their skins on, until tender when tested with a fork. Drain, peel, and cut potatoes in cubes. Season with salt, pepper, chopped onion and set on the back of the range to keep warm while you make the dressing. Chop bacon into small pieces and fry over a low heat until brown and crisp. Now stir in flour as smoothly as possible and cook, stirring constantly, for a minute or two. Add water, vinegar and sugar. Continue cooking, still stirring, until mixture bubbles. Pour over potatoes and toss gently. Tastes best served warm. Plenty for 4.
