    FESTIVE APPLE STREUSEL BARS

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
    • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
    • 3/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar, divided
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1 tsp. cinnamon
    • 1 1/2 sticks melted butter
    • 2 medium apples, cored and peeled
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 TBS. milk


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350.
    2. Grease a 13x9" baking pan. Combine cracker crumbs, flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon and butter in a large bowl until well blended; reserve 1 cup.
    3. Press remaining crumb mixture into bottom of prepared pan. Bake 8 minutes. Remove from oven; set aside.
    4. Chop apples to yield 2 cups. Toss remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar with apples in medium bowl until dissolved; arrange apples over baked crust. Sprinkle the reserved 1 cup crumb mixutre over filling.
    5. Bake until apples are tender, about 30-35 minutes. Remove pan to a wire rack and cool completely.
    6. For glaze, combine the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until well blended and smooth. Drizzle with glaze. Cut into bars.
