    HONEY GLAZED VEAL LOAF

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 pounds of ground veal
    • 1/3 cup plus 2 TBS. thinly sliced green onions, divided
    • 1/3 cup bread crumbs
    • 1 tsp. dried basil
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
    • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
    • 2 TBS. honey
    • 1 TBS. yellow mustard


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350.
    2. Combine the veal, 1/3 cup green onions, bread crumbs, basil, salt and pepper in a large bowl and mix well.
    3. Add the milk to the veal mixture and mix well. Shape into a loaf. Place in an 8x4" loaf pan.

    4. Mix the honey and mustard in a small bowl. Reserve half in another small bowl. Brush half of the glaze over the veal loaf. Bake for 35 minutes. Remove to a heated serving platter.
    5. Using a clean utensil, brush the loaf with reserved glaze. Sprinkle with remaining green onions.
    6. VARIATION: For a different flavor, try adding 1/4 cup chopped, cooked mushrooms to ground veal mixture and substitute 1 tsp. dried tarragon for the dried basil.
