    Recipe Introduction


    There's nothing like a home cooked meat and potatoes meal such as this delicious recipe!!


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1/4 tsp. pepper
    • 2 pounds of round steak cut into serving pieces
    • 2 TBL. vegetable oil
    • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
    • 2 cups water
    • 2 TBL. Worcestershire sauce
    • GRAVY:
    • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    • 1/4 tsp. salt
    • 1/8 tsp. pepper
    • 1-1/4 cups beef broth or water
    • Hot cooked noodles or mashed potatoes


    Instructions


    1. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, and pepper.
      Dredge steak, a few pieces at a time. Pound with a meat mallet to tenderize.
    2. In a Dutch oven, brown steak in oil on all sides.
    3. Arrange the onion slices between the layers of meat. Add the water and Worcestershire sauce.
    4. Cover and bake at 325 for 2-2 1/2 hours or until the meat is very tender. Remove to a serving platter and keep warm.
    5. In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, and broth until smooth; stir into pan juices. Bring to a boil over med. heat; cook and stir for 2 minutes.
    6. Serve steak and gravy over noodles or mashed potatoes if desired.
