    List of Ingredients


    • 1 lb. lean ground beef
    • 1 small onion chopped
    • 3 TBL. dry bread crumbs
    • 3 egg whites
    • 1 large can of plain tomato sauce (no salt), divided
    • pinch of salt and pepper
    • 4 green bell peppers


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350. Remove the stem from the peppers. Discard the seeds and membrane. Rinse the inside of the peppers and turn upside down on paper towels to drain.
    2. Coat a baking dish with non stick cooking spray. Place the peppers in the dish, cover with saran wrap and microwave on high for about 5 minutes or until the peppers are semi-tender.
    3. In a bowl, combine the beef, onion, crumbs, egg whites,1/3cup tomato sauce, and salt and pepper.
    4. Fill the peppers with the beef mixture. Bake for 30 minutes.
    5. Remove from oven and pour over the remaning tomato sauce.Bake another 15 minutes.
