STUFFED PEPPERS

List of Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 small onion chopped
- 3 TBL. dry bread crumbs
- 3 egg whites
- 1 large can of plain tomato sauce (no salt), divided
- pinch of salt and pepper
- 4 green bell peppers
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350. Remove the stem from the peppers. Discard the seeds and membrane. Rinse the inside of the peppers and turn upside down on paper towels to drain.
- Coat a baking dish with non stick cooking spray. Place the peppers in the dish, cover with saran wrap and microwave on high for about 5 minutes or until the peppers are semi-tender.
- In a bowl, combine the beef, onion, crumbs, egg whites,1/3cup tomato sauce, and salt and pepper.
- Fill the peppers with the beef mixture. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and pour over the remaning tomato sauce.Bake another 15 minutes.
