    Popovers

    Source of Recipe

"The Mystery Chef's Own Cook Book: Presenting Marvelous Meals at Lower Cost," by John MacPherson (Blakiston Company, Philadelphia, 1934).

    List of Ingredients

    2 eggs
    1 cup milk
    1 cup sifted flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons butter, melted

    Recipe

Grease muffin or popover pans well with butter and heat in oven until sizzling hot. Beat eggs well; add milk and beat again with rotary egg beater. Sift in flour and salt, then melted butter, beating well. Pour into sizzling hot pans and place in very hot oven (450 F) for 30 minutes. Then reduce heat to 350 F for another 10-15 minutes. Makes 9 popovers.
