Recipe Introduction
CRINKLES: In honor of Kellogg's longest lasting spokes-animal (Tony the Tiger) who has only been outlived by the turkey on the Corn Flakes box, I give you the 1950s 'chic'-est cookie: the crinkle. And as Tony would say, "They're Grrrrreat!"
List of Ingredients
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup margarine softened
3/4 cup demerara sugar (light brown)
1/2 cup tofu sour cream
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
4 cups frosted flakes (Frosties) slightly crushed
Recipe
Pre heat oven to 350 , line cookie sheets with baking paper In small bowl, combine flour and baking soda
In medium-sized mixing bowl, beat together margarine and sugar, add tofu sour cream, egg and vanilla and beat until well combined.
Add dry ingredients to margarine mixture, mix until smooth
Place frosted flakes in shallow bowl, crush slightly with hands.
Shape dough into one-inch balls, roll each ball in cereal. Place unbaked cookies on prepared cookie sheets two inches apart and flatten each ball slightly.
Bake for 12-13 minutes until lightly browned. Yield: approximately 3 dozen.
