Lemon Pudding cake

For a luscious lemon aid to your sweet tooth, make lemon pudding cake. This old-fashioned dessert separates during baking to form a cake and a lemon pudding layer.
2/3 cup plus 1/2 cup sugar, divided
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 cup lemon juice, divided
1 tbsp. grated lemon rind
Recipe
In a mixer, cream together 2/3 cup sugar and butter. Stir in milk. In a bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to sugar mixture. Add 1/4 cup lemon juice and grated rind. Spoon into buttered
2-quart glass bowl.
In a small bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar and remaining 1/4 cup lemon juice. Pour over batter. Pour 2/3 cup boiling water over the batter. Bake in 325 degree oven for 30 minutes or until golden.
