    Tandoori-style chicken

    Make your presentation more distinctive by cutting chicken into chunks and
    threading them on bamboo skewers before grilling. If you're cooking this on
    an outdoor grill, load the charcoal on one side or, if cooking with a gas
    grill, just heat one side.

    1 cup plain yogurt (preferably whole-milk yogurt)
    2 teaspoons ground cumin
    2 teaspoons (freshly ground) black pepper
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon curry powder
    2 tablespoons minced or grated fresh ginger
    1 tablespoon minced garlic
    boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, or boneless, skinless thighs,
    enough for 4 servings

    Recipe



    Combine yogurt, cumin, pepper, salt, curry powder, ginger and garlic in a medium-sized bowl. Add chicken and marinate at least 30 minutes or up to 2 days. Heat broiler to 500 degrees, or gas or charcoal grill to medium heat. Scrape most of the marinade off the chicken and broil 6 inches from
    heat for 6 minutes on each side, or until cooked the way you like it. If grilling, cook over indirect heat (on the side where the heat isn't), cover the grill and cook for 15 minutes total, or until cooked to desired taste.
    You won't need to turn the chicken.

    Serves 4.
