McCall's house dressing
Source of Recipe
McCall's Magaazine
Recipe Introduction
We always had this dressing on hand in the McCall's magazine test kitchens in the 1960s. Use it sparingly on sturdy greens such as romaine. For a large salad, coarsely chop a bunch of watercress and stir it into the dressing before tossing.
List of Ingredients
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Juice of 1 lemon
Freshly ground black pepperRecipe
Combine all ingredients in a jar and refrigerate. Shake before serving.
Makes about 1 cup.
