Bourbon Barbecue Sauce
Red Devil bottles this sauce, but you can try it at home if you have a crowd
to feed. This will sauce 12 to 15 racks of ribs.
List of Ingredients
1 spanish onion, minced
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 cup tomato paste
1/2 cup black coffee
1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cups ketchup
2 tbsp molasses
1 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup dijon mustard
2/3 cup bourbon
Recipe
In large saucepan over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic in butter until
softened, 3 to 5 minutes. Add chili powder and tomato paste and cook until
fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Add coffee, worcestershire, vinegar, sugar,
ketchup, molasses and pepper; simmer 15 minutes.
Add mustard and bourbon and bring to a boil over high heat.
Makes 6 cups.
