1 cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
1 cup ketchup
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons grated orange peel
4 tablespoons orange juice, divided
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Combine all but 2 tablespoons orange juice and the cornstarch. Bring to a
boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 25 minutes,
stirring occasionally. Mix cornstarch with remaining 2 tablespoons orange
juice, then stir into sauce. Increase heat to medium-high. Bring to boil,
stirring, until sauce thickens. Brush on grilled chicken, steak or fish
during last 5 minutes of grilling. Makes 21/2 cups.
