Quick and easy hot fudge sauce
List of Ingredients
Hot fudge is chewier than chocolate sauce. This is the kind that firms up
on your ice cream. Delicious.
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar
Dash salt
2 tablespoons corn syrup
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup milk, or a little more
2 teaspoons vanilla
Recipe
Combine butter sugar, salt, corn syrup and chocolate in a small but heavy
saucepan over low heat. Stir often to mix ingredients and melt chocolate.
Add milk. Bring to a boil over medium-low heat and let it bubble 30
seconds, stirring to dissolve all the sugar (you may need another
tablespoon or 2 of milk). Remove from heat, cool 5 minutes and stir in
vanilla. Serve over ice cream. Makes 1 1/2 cups. May be stored in the
refrigerator for several weeks (sugar may crystallize but sauce will be
safe to eat). Reheat in microwave or by putting the storage container in a
pan of hot water and stirring until it reaches the consistency you like.
You may wish to add more cream or milk when you reheat it.
