    My Grandma Mary (McQuin) Brownfield's Cookbook

    Serves: 4 to 6

    List of Ingredients




    1 can Pillsbury biscuits
    3/4 t. salt
    1/2 c. ketchup
    1 lb. ground beef (I use veggie burger)
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/8 t. pepper
    1 c. (8 oz.) tomato sauce
    8 oz. of American or shredded cheddar cheese (I use fat free or low-fat)

    Recipe



    Combine beef and onion in a sprayed skillet and cook until onions are soft (or meat is lightly browned). Drain (if necessary), add salt and pepper. Stir in ketchup and tomato sauce. Heat thoroughly.

    Turn into an 8 inch square or 1 1/2 qt. baking dish (casserole). Cut cheese into thin strips (if necessary) and sprinkle over meat. Top with biscuits (spray biscuits lightly with butter flavored cooking spray).

    Bake at 425 for 20 to 25 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.

    Note: Depending on the size of the casserole dish all of the biscuits may not fit.
