    Genas Heavenly Rolls

    Recipe Introduction

(this recipe is from recipe circus.) I am happy to have this recipe in my collection Margaret's Notes-In Memory of my beloved sister Gena Susan's Notes- This is by far the best roll recipe I have ever had. These are wonderful. The rolls come out much better with the 1 cup wheat flour mixed in. They look beautiful. I can see why Gena loved them. notes posted by Susan 1-24-04 posted by Margaret 05-05-98 These were my sisters favorites and I always made them for every family get together. After a long battle with breast cancer she passed away on March 23. I will always think of her every time I make these rolls

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup milk
1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
    1/4 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    3 cups bread flour
1 cup wheat flour Or use all bread flour
    2 1/2 teaspoons yeast

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350.

Place all ingredients in your bread machine in the order recommended and use the dough cycle

Remove the dough from the machine when cyle is complete. Knead gently on a lightly floured surface.

Divide and shape into 24 smooth round rolls.

Place the rolls about 3/4 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet.

Cover the dough with a cloth and allow it to double in a warm place.

Bake for about 18 minutes. Brush with butter or a mixture
of butter and honey while still warm from the oven.

You may also freeze the shaped dough before baking it, then allow to thaw in refrigerator overnight and then remove from refrigerator and let stand covered about 45 minutes until doubled.

My Notes: These are excellent - very similar to the wheat rolls you get at the Black-Eyed Pea restaurant chain. I, make these for every family get together - usually a double batch, because no one can seem to stop eating them.

    Susan's Notes-
I warmed the milk, and the eggs were room temperature. This is an excellent recipe. My family loves these.
