Pineapple Upside Down Cake

1 box yellow cake mix (18oz)
1 large can of pineapple rings
½ cup Butter
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 jar maraschino cherries
Recipe
Heat oven to 350.
Put butter in a 9x13 inch pan and put it in the oven for a few minutes to melt the butter.
Mix cake mix according to the directions on the package, except when it calls for water—use the juice
from the pineapple and add only enough water to make the amount of liquid specified.
Sprinkle the brown sugar over the melted butter. Put drained pineapple over the
brown sugar. put a 1/2 cherry (cut side up) in the center of pineapple ring. Pour cake batter over the pineapple.
Bake for about 45 minutes.
Let cool 15 minutes before turning over on platter.
Serve warm or cool.
Can also add cool whip on top.
