    1 cup white sugar
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 pound shortening
    1-1/3 tsp. Vanilla
    ½ tsp. Salt
    2 eggs
    4 cups flour
    2 tsp. Baking soda
    2 tsp. Cream of tartar
    Roll in balls and press with a fork. Bake at 300 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
