    Recipe Introduction

This recipe is a big hit with the kids! Our 11 year old loves tacos and I find that this method is not as messy as the traditional tacos.

    List of Ingredients

    1 lb. ground beef
    1 chopped onion
    fresh cracked black pepper
    tabasco sauce
    worchestershire sauce
    1/2 tsp. minced garlic
    1/2 pkg. taco seasoning
    2 cups water
    2 cups uncooked instant rice
    1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
    1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
    coarsely crushed corn tortillas
    4 chopped tomatoes
    1/2 head shredded lettuce
    sour cream or to taste
    salsa to taste

    Recipe

Brown ground beef with onion, pepper, garlic, tabasco and worchestershire sauce. Drain off grease and return to pan. Add water and bring to a boil. Stir in seasoning mix and rice. Sprinkle with cheddar and mozzarella and cover. Lower heat and cook for 5 minutes. Serve either in a bowl or soft tortilla wrap. Top with tortilla chips, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream and salsa.

*I've also added diced sweet red, green and yellow peppers with the tomatoes and lettuce. It adds colour and crunch.

Recipe appears in July 1, 2007 edition of Easy Tastebud Delights.
