List of Ingredients
1/2 stick butter, melted
5 Juicy Apples, Sliced Thin
1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
1 Egg
3 Tbsp. Melted Butter
1 Cup Milk
1 Cup white Sugar
pinch of salt
2-1/2 Tsp. baking Powder
1 Cup Flour, rounded, not level
Cinnamon Or Nutmeg
In large iron skillet, put the 1/2 stick melted butter,
Peel and slice apples thin, layer over butter,
add brown sugar, spreading evenly over apples,
sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg.
Recipe
FOR BATTER:
In a measuring cup place 3 Tbsp.melted butter and egg,
fill cup to top with milk and beat until blended.
Mix together 1 Cup sugar, the salt, baking powder and flour,
pour in wet ingredients and beat for 3 minutes.
Pour over apples and bake at 350 degrees about 40 minutes or until tests done. Let set in pan 5 minutes then turn out onto cake pan.
Note: I always place a round piece of wax paper in bottom of iron skillet before putting in any ingredients, comes out a lot better with no sticking.
Pears may be used in this recipe instead of apples
