    Caramel Candy Bars

    List of Ingredients

    1 package vanilla caramels
    1/3 cup milk
    2 cups flour
    2 cups quick cooking oats
    1 1/2 cups brown sugar
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 egg
    1 cup margarine,softened
    1 package semi sweet chocolate chips
    1 cup chopped walnuts or dry roasted peanuts

    Recipe

    Heat oven to 350.
    Heat caramels and milk in sauce pan over low heat, stirring frequently, until smooth; remove from heat and reserve. Mix flour,oats,brown sugar,baking soda and salt in large bowl. Stir in egg and margarine with fork until mixture is crumbly.
    Press half of the crumbly mixture in ungreased pan, 13x9x2 inches.
    Bake 10 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts. Drizzle with caramel mixture. sprinkle remaining crumbly mixture over top.
    Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
    Cool 30 minutes. Loosen edges from sides of pan.
    Cool completely.
