Chocolate Mint Sticks

- 1/2 cup margarine
- 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs,beaten
- 1/2 tsp peppermint flavouring
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- Frosting:
- 2 tbsp margarine
- 1 tbsp cream
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 1 tsp peppermint flavouring
- 1 square unsweetened chocolate
- 1 tbsp margarine
Instructions
- Melt margarine and chocolate in double boiler or saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat; blend sugar and let cool slightly.
- Add eggs and flovouring; mix well. Stir in flour and nuts. Spread in a greased 9 inch square cake pan.
- Bake at 350 25-30 min. Cool before frosting.
- For Frosting:
- Blend margarine and cream; add sugar and flavouring,beating well. Spread over chocolate layer.
- Chill until frosting is firm. Melt chocolate and margarine spread over frosting. Chill. Cut into 3/4 inch strips.
