    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup margarine
    • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 eggs,beaten
    • 1/2 tsp peppermint flavouring
    • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
    • Frosting:
    • 2 tbsp margarine
    • 1 tbsp cream
    • 1 cup icing sugar
    • 1 tsp peppermint flavouring
    • 1 square unsweetened chocolate
    • 1 tbsp margarine


    Instructions


    1. Melt margarine and chocolate in double boiler or saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat; blend sugar and let cool slightly.
    2. Add eggs and flovouring; mix well. Stir in flour and nuts. Spread in a greased 9 inch square cake pan.
    3. Bake at 350 25-30 min. Cool before frosting.
    4. For Frosting:
    5. Blend margarine and cream; add sugar and flavouring,beating well. Spread over chocolate layer.
    6. Chill until frosting is firm. Melt chocolate and margarine spread over frosting. Chill. Cut into 3/4 inch strips.
