    Recipe Introduction


    This is great served over mashed potatoes,noodles or rice.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 pound stewing beef
    • 2 oz pork dripping
    • 8 oz onion
    • 2 garlic cloves
    • 1 tbsp flour
    • 1 beef stock cube
    • 1 pint boiling water
    • Salt and Pepper to taste
    • 1/2 tsp dried marjoram
    • 1/2 tsp caraway seed
    • pinch of brown sugar
    • 1/2 tsp paprika
    • 1/4 pint red wine
    • 1/4 pint sour cream


    Instructions


    1. Cube beef. Heat dripping in a sauce pan.
    2. Add beef and fry till brown on both sides.
    3. Peel and chop onions and garlic,add to meat and cook till transparent.
    4. Sprinkle in the flour and stir mixture. Mix stock cubbe into boiling water and pour over meat.
    5. Season with salt and pepper,marjoram,caraway seed,pinch of brown sugar and paprika.
    6. Cover tightly and cook gently for 1 1/4 hours.
    7. Add wine and check seasoning. Bring to a simmering point and stir in sour cream.
