    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 cup all-purpose Flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 2 1/2 to 3-pound white ckicken meat, cut up in big pieces
    • 1/4 cup olive oil or cooking oil
    • ****
    • 1/4 cup chopped celery
    • 1/2 cup chopped onion
    • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • ****
    • 1 16-ounce can tomatoes, cup up
    • 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
    • 1 3-ounce can sliced mushrooms, drained
    • 1/3 cup dry white wine
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
    • dash pepper


    Instructions


    1. Combine flour and the 1/2 teaspoon salt in a clear plastic bag or paper bag; add a few pieces of chicken at a time and shake. In an oven-going skillet, brown the chicken in hot oil; remove chicken.
    2. In same skillet cook onion, celery, green pepper, and garlic till tender but not brown. Return chicken to skillet.
    3. Combine tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, wine, the 1 teaspoon salt, basil, rosemary, and pepper. Pour over chicken. Cover and bake in 350*F oven till chicken is tender, about 1 hour. Remove the chicken to warm serving dish. Ladle sauce over top.
