Baked Peaches & Cream
List of Ingredients
2 tsp butter or margarine
2 cans peach halves in heavy syrup (15 ½ oz ea), well drained
1 Tbs sugar
½ cup heavy cream
½ tsp vanilla
2 Tbs sliced almonds, toasted
Recipe
Heat broiler. Coat bottom of a shallow 2-quart baking dish with butter.
Pat peach halves dry with paper towels, arrange cut side down in prepared dish, sprinkle tops with sugar. Broil peaches 5 inches from heat source 8 to 10 minutes, until edges of fruit are browned.
Meanwhile, combine cream and vanilla in a 1-cup glass measure. Remove peaches from broiler, pour cream mixture into dish. Reduce temperature to 425 degrees. Bake peaches 12 to 15 minutes more, until sauce is bubbly. Sprinkle with toasted almonds. Serve warm.
