Banana-Coffee a la Foster
List of Ingredients
Frozen dairy whipped topping or vanilla ice cream
4 firm ripe bananas
2 Tbs lemon juice
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
3 Tbs butter
1/4 cup Amaretto or orange, creme de almond or coffee liqueur
Sliced almonds for garnish
Lemon rind curls for garnish
Recipe
Thaw whipped topping during pre-dinner preparation of this dessert, if frozen. Cut bananas on an angle into 1/2-inch slices. Place in flat pan, sprinkle with lemon juice and lightly toss to coat. Cover and set aside until dessert.
In large skillet, combine butter and brown sugar over medium high heat until sugar is melted. To avoik ignition, remove skillet from heat. Reduce heat to low. Add bananas and liqueur. Return skillet to stovetop. Cook, stirring gently, over low heat for one minute, until bananas are heated through. Spoon bananas and syrup into dessert cups, top with whipped topping. Garnish with almonds and curl of lemon rind.
OR Spoon over vanilla ice cream and garnish with almonds and curl of lemon rind.
